Gastrointestinal complaints are among the top ten reasons for doctor visits. Yet even some of the best and most conscientious doctors either misdiagnose Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or are unable to bring their patients relief.

"Just live with it" isn't an option.

GI conditions don't just cramp your abdomen, they cramp your ability to enjoy life.

You should take this test if you are experiencing any of these symptoms:

  • Bloating
  • Gas
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Abdominal pain
  • Irregular bowel movements
  • Feeling like you haven't finished a bowel movement
  • Family history of IBS, IBD, Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis

How Unique is Your Gut?

Every gut is unique. But sometimes the differences are easy to miss. We make the invisible visible. From a small fecal sample, we comprehensively sequence your gut microbiome and provide you with a comprehensive, accurate picture of your microbiome health.

What You Get

Simple at-home fecal sample collection kit

Gut profile and results that compare you to other individuals

Core gut metrics aggregated and calculated to reveal levels of gut irritation

AI-driven personalized interventions on diet, exercise, and supplementation that are scientifically based and reviewed by medical professionals.

Our Approach

The microbiome is the new frontier in understanding human health, especially when it comes to the gut. It is also extremely complex; in the colon alone there are between 10 and 100 trillion microorganisms.

We provide the most comprehensive, accurate, and insightful picture of your microbiome health based on the latest advances in research, technology, science, and machine learning.

Next Generation Metagenomic Sequencing

At Onegevity, we use the most advanced sequencing technology available: whole genome shotgun sequencing. This technology provides the highest possible resolution of your microbiome, allowing us to identify microorganisms at the species and strain level.

With whole genome shotgun sequencing's higher resolution, we can identify tens of thousands of microorganisms undetectable by 16S profiling - the outdated method used by most other companies.

16S profiling was one of the first microbiome approaches utilized in the field. However it is narrow in scope, making it difficult or impossible to identify microorgansims at the species level. 16S sequencing was a groundbreaking starting point at the time, but it leaves much unknown.

By combining cutting edge technology with an exceptional user experience, we hope to bring you new clarity, new discoveries, and a new understanding of your GI health.

Metagenomic Sequencing
16S Sequencing
Why it's important
Metagenomic Sequencing
Identifies down to the strain level
16S Sequencing
Struggles to differentiate at and beyond the species level
Why it's important
Strain levels matter – for example E. coli 0157 is dangerously pathogenic, but other strains of E. coli are not known to be detrimental to human health.
Metagenomic Sequencing
Identifies all microorganisms
16S Sequencing
Cannot identify nonbacterial microorganisms
Why it's important
Metagenomic sequencing can find viruses, yeast, fungi, and parasites that can affect your health — whereas 16S sequencing only looks at bacteria.
Metagenomic Sequencing
16S Sequencing
Unreliable; sequencing the same sample twice can yield drastically different results
Why it's important
Minimal variability is essential to understanding every aspect of the gut microbiome.
Metagenomic Sequencing
Assess pathway function
16S Sequencing
Does not assess what the detected microbes do/are responsible for
Why it's important
Through virtual metabolomics, it’s possible to discover not only what is inside the gut, but what those species actually do — and thereby provide critical insights into better understanding gut health.
